Homer-Center waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Marion Center Stingers an 8-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won nine contests by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Nash Budner, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April. Drew Fisher was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Homer-Center hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive games.

Homer-Center's win bumped their record up to 15-4. As for Marion Center, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.

Homer-Center will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Stingers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
