Volleyball Recap: Homewood-Flossmoor Comes Up Short

Homewood-Flossmoor extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping them down to 11-11. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Chicago Christian Knights. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Kymora Scott paced Homewood-Flossmoor's offense, picking up nine kills. Scott got some help from Naimah Calhoun and her nine assists. Makayla Cooper controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

As for Chicago Christian, their record is now 16-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since September 11th.

Lily Loerop was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 13 digs and two aces. What's more, she posted two assists, the most she's had over her last six matches.

Homewood-Flossmoor didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Evansville Memorial on the 27th. As for Chicago Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Washington on the 27th.
