Softball Recap: Crestline Comes Up Short

Crestline managed to slip by Mansfield Christian the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Bulldogs lost 15-5 to the Flames on Monday. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kylie Kelly made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Faith Songer, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

Crestline's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-8. As for Mansfield Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-4 record this season.

While Crestline had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
