Baseball Recap: Tyner Academy Comes Up Short

Tyner Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 18-2 to the Polk County Wildcats. The Rams were not able to make up for their loss to the Wildcats from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Tyner Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was D'Terrius Dupree, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Dupree also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season.

Tyner Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Polk County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-6.

Coming up, Tyner Academy will face off against Howard Tech at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Tyner Academy's pitchers better be ready for this one: Howard Tech has averaged an impressive 9.4 runs per game this season. As for Polk County, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Polk County Wildcats duke it out with Meigs County Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
