Basketball Recap: Houghton Piles Up the Points Against Ontonagon

Houghton waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They breezed by the Ontonagon Gladiators to the tune of 75-36. The Gremlins have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 25 points or more this season.

Houghton's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Ontonagon, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Houghton will be home for the holidays to greet L'Anse at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. L'Anse knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Houghton likes a good challenge. As for Ontonagon, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Hancock at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
