Volleyball Recap: Walker Valley Extends Winning Streak to Three

Walker Valley entered their tilt with McMinn County on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Cherokees 3-0. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Walker Valley not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept McMinn County between 19 and 21 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-19, 25-19.

Walker Valley's offense was headlined by Journey Rollo and Sophia Davis, who picked up six kills apiece. They got some help from Julia Scarbrough and her 11 assists. Madison Mcclung controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Walker Valley's victory bumped their record up to 6-10. As for McMinn County, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Walker Valley will venture away from home to challenge Cleveland at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for McMinn County, they will head out to square off against Copper Basin at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
