Softball Game Preview: Southern Indians vs. Wellsville Tigers

Southern is a perfect 4-0 against Wellsville since April of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Indians will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. Southern has given up an average of 12.6 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Southern couldn't beat Beaver Local on Tuesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the first inning. The Indians might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 18-4 to the Beavers, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Raelea Carosiello made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and one double.

Meanwhile, Wellsville came into Tuesday's matchup having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They never let Jefferson County Christian get on the board and left with a 13-0 win on Tuesday.

Wellsville's victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Southern, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Southern skirted past Wellsville 12-11 in their previous matchup on Monday. Will the Indians repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
