Softball Recap: Eisenhower Knights vs. Union City Bears

Eisenhower extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping them down to 1-8. They came up short against the Union City Bears, falling 13-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-0 two weeks ago.

As for Union City, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. Considering they have won seven contests by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

For Union City's part, the team relied heavily on Madison Swan, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those five RBI gave Swan a new career-high. Alivia Zielinski was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Eisenhower does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Union City, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-7 victory against Sharpsville on the 8th.
