Recap: Stilwell Indians vs. Fort Gibson Tigers

It was a good run, but the Stilwell Indians unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 52-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fort Gibson. Stilwell was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Fort Gibson apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played on January 6th.

Stilwell's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Snowda Watie, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Watie hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Prairie Holmes was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Stilwell's loss dropped their record down to 12-3. As for Fort Gibson, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.

Stilwell will head out on the road to face off against Idabel at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Oklahoma (Idabel is ranked sixth, while Stilwell is ranked 19th). As for Fort Gibson, Fort Gibson and Wagoner will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
