Softball Recap: Knox Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Knox entered their tilt with Kouts on Wednesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Mustangs & Fillies with a sharp 12-3 win. That's two games straight that the Redskins have won by exactly nine runs.

Da'Miya Sherrod was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Madalee Hinshaw, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Addison Sponaugle, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Knox kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Knox's victory bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Kouts, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.

Coincidentally, Knox and Kouts will both be playing Glenn the next time they take the field. The Redskins will host the Falcons at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Mustangs & Fillies will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
