Basketball Recap: Crothersville Comes Up Short

If Crothersville was feeling good fresh off their 73-37 takedown of Columbus Christian last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Crothersville Tigers fell to the Crawford County Wolfpack 56-52.

When it comes to explaining why Crothersville lost on Friday, don't look at Beau Napier. Despite the final result, he posted 17 points in addition to seven boards and five assists. The match was Napier's third in a row with at least 17 points. Tymir Cromwell was another key player, going 6-for-9 to rack up 14 points.

Crawford County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Blake Seibert, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 15 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Seibert a new career-high in assists (three). Another player making a difference was Braxton Bowman, who went 6-for-10 on his way to 19 points and three steals.

Crothersville has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season. Crawford County's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-15.
