Basketball Game Preview: Lakeside Lancers vs. Paloma Valley Wildcats

The Lakeside Lancers will head out on the road to take on the Paloma Valley Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lakeside is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.5 points per game this season.

Lakeside is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They took a 60-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Citrus Hill.

Lakeside's loss came about despite a quality game from Maurice Turner, who went 10 of 16 on his way to 23 points and five boards. Justin Lim was another key player, putting up eight points.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Paloma Valley beat Citrus Hill 54-49 on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

Paloma Valley pushed their record up to 9-12 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for Lakeside, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-17.

Lakeside won a contest that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in January of 2024, slipping by Paloma Valley 85-84. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lakeside since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
