Volleyball Recap: Wyndmere/Lidgerwood's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

It was a good run, but Wyndmere/Lidgerwood unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-match winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ellendale Cardinals. The Warbirds were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cardinals earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

While Wyndmere/Lidgerwood had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 16-25, 25-20, 25-19.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ellendale to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alivia Knutson, who had four digs and two aces. That's the most digs Knutson has posted over her last nine contests.

Wyndmere/Lidgerwood's defeat dropped their record down to 12-5-1. As for Ellendale, their victory bumped their record up to 17-10.

Wyndmere/Lidgerwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ellendale, they will challenge Aberdeen Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Knights will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Cardinals surely won't give up without a fight.
