Football Recap: West Orange's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

West Orange and Lennard squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but West Orange had to settle for second. They lost to the Longhorns on the road by a 33-19 margin. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 44th, while the Longhorns are ranked eighth).

Sydney Elizondo continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Lennard, throwing for 257 yards and four TDs while completing 72.7% of her passes, and also rushing for 59 yards and one score on only five carries. Those 59 rushing yards gave Elizondo a new career-high.

With the defeat, West Orange broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-6. As for Lennard, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 16-2.

West Orange does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lennard, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 20-19 loss against Steinbrenner on the 28th.
