Baseball Recap: Summit's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Summit had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They blew past the Middle Park Panthers 14-1. Considering the Tigers have won 11 matchups by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Hogan Tobias, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Wyatt Lyman also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Summit was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .483. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Middle Park only posted a batting average of .235.

Summit's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-5. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.8 runs over those games. As for Middle Park, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-9.

Summit has already played their next game, a 21-6 win against Steamboat Springs on the 9th. As for Middle Park, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 9-1 victory against Arrupe Jesuit on the 7th.
