Volleyball Recap: Mukwonago Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Amanda Esmeier and Hannah Vermuelen

Mukwonago was the 3-0 winner over Waukesha West when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Indians fell 3-1 to the Wolverines on Tuesday.

While Mukwonago ultimately came up short, they really made Waukesha West work, particularly in the third set. The final score came out to 25-18, 22-25, 29-27, 25-23.

Hannah Vermuelen and Amanda Esmeier certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Vermuelen had 23 digs and three assists, while Esmeier had 25 assists and 11 digs. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Wisniewski, who had three digs and two blocks.

Mukwonago has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-19 record this season. As for Waukesha West, their victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 25-10.

Mukwonago didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Whitnall on the 18th. As for Waukesha West, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Appleton East on the 18th.
