Baseball Recap: Tonopah Valley Takes a Loss

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Tonopah Valley's offense. They came up short against the Yuma Catholic Shamrocks on Wednesday, falling 15-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Shamrocks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 back in March.

Tonopah Valley saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joey Lizarraga, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Tonopah Valley has also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-11-1 record this season. As for Yuma Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 21-2.

Tonopah Valley has already played their next match, a 10-0 victory against Arizona Lutheran Academy on the 25th. As for Yuma Catholic, they will challenge Chino Valley at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
