Basketball Game Preview: Farwell Eagles vs. Beaverton Beavers

Farwell hasn't had much luck against Beaverton recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Farwell Eagles will venture away from home to square off against the Beaverton Beavers at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Farwell is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 39th straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 63-25 loss at the hands of Ogemaw Heights.

Meanwhile, Beaverton suffered their biggest loss since December 18, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against Gladwin, falling 77-56. While losing is never fun, the Beavers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 582nd, while the Flying G's are ranked 137th).

Beaverton's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Farwell, their loss dropped their record down to 0-17.

Farwell took a serious blow against Beaverton when the teams last played back in January, falling 65-25. Can Farwell avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
