Football Recap: St. Teresa Bulldogs vs. Mater Dei Knights        
        
		
             St. Teresa entered their tilt with Mater Dei on Friday with three consecutive wins  but they'll enter their next game with four. They managed  a  38-34 victory over the Mater Dei Knights. For the Bulldogs, this counts as revenge for the   55-7 loss the Knights walked away with the last time they faced one another  back in October of 2023.
 It was another big night for  Caiden Kernaghan, who rushed for 96 yards and a touchdown.
 St. Teresa didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of  Tylinn Davis and  Dougie Craw. Craw also  snagged  an  interception, which is notable because St. Teresa is undefeated when he posts  at  least  one  interception, but 2-3 otherwise.
 Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, St. Teresa was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 338  rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  rushed for at least 218  rushing yards in four consecutive  matches.
 When it comes to explaining why Mater Dei lost, don't look at  Chase Jansen. Despite the final result, he threw for 270 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 30 yards and two touchdowns.  Elliott Rakers was in the mix  too, providing Mater Dei with two touchdowns.
 St. Teresa's record is now 5-3. As for Mater Dei,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 3-5.
 St. Teresa will head out on the road to  face off against  Highland  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Highland is coming into the  matchup with four straight  wins at home,  so St. Teresa will have to stop a  squad with plenty of momentum. As for Mater Dei, they will welcome Mt. Zion  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 918 yards in their previous games.
