Recap: Shipley vs. Malvern Prep Friars
Shipley's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Malvern Prep, falling 82-49. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Shipley in their matchups with Malvern Prep: they've now lost four in a row.
Loss or not, Shipley got some senior leadership from Will Littles, Jr who scored 14 points and Matt Lange who scored ten points along with three steals. The contest was Littles, Jr's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Gyasi Miller, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Shipley has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Malvern Prep, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shipley will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Friends Select at 5:30 p.m. on January 3, 2024. Friends Select is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. As for Malvern Prep, they will head out on the road to face off against La Salle College at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. La Salle College will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 239th, while Malvern Prep is ranked first).
