Softball Game Preview: Stow-Munroe Falls Bulldogs vs. Oak Park-River Forest Huskies

The Stow-Munroe Falls Bulldogs will challenge the Oak Park-River Forest Huskies at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Stow-Munroe Falls had to start their season on the road on Monday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of Grant Community. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it six in a row.

Lexi Watson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaliyah Thammachack, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Oak Park-River Forest put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 9-6 victory over Kewaskum.

Anna Topel looked comfortable as she pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up a single earned run any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Charlie Terry was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Maura Carmody also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Oak Park-River Forest hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most three strikeouts in four consecutive matches.

Stow-Munroe Falls skirted past Oak Park-River Forest 4-3 when the teams last played back in March of 2023. Does Stow-Munroe Falls have another victory up their sleeve, or will Oak Park-River Forest turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
