Basketball Recap: Monsignor Scanlan's Undefeated Season over After Seven Games

After flying high against St. Francis Prep on Tuesday, Monsignor Scanlan came back down to earth. The Crusaders fell 62-50 to the Bishop Gorman Gaels on Friday. The loss was the Crusaders' first of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Monsignor Scanlan fell to 6-1. As for Bishop Gorman, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Looking ahead, Monsignor Scanlan won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Archbishop Carroll at 3:55 p.m. on Saturday. The Crusaders will be up against the Patriots' rather soft defense (which has allowed 58 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Bishop Gorman, they will also get right back to it: they'll face off against Bishop McNamara at 3:40 p.m. on Saturday. The Gaels will need to watch out since the Mustangs have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
