Football Recap: Oakmont Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Oakmont had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost 35-14 to the Bella Vista Broncos on Friday. The game was up for grabs at halftime, but sadly the Vikings struggled afterwards.

Oakmont's loss came despite strong showings from Elijah Stevens and Ocean Mu?oz. Stevens threw for 184 yards and two TDs, while Mu?oz picked up 91 receiving yards and one score.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Dvaughn Norwood and Hugo Lopez. Norwood rushed for 93 yards and a pair of touchdowns while Lopez rushed for 100 yards and one score on only 11 carries. That's the most rushing yards Norwood has posted since back in August of 2024.

Oakmont has already played their next contest, a 34-14 loss against Roseville on the 29th. As for Bella Vista, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 49-0 defeat against Nevada Union on the 29th.
