Basketball Recap: Cambridge Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Elisabeth Kubik and Mallory Springer

Cambridge was the 47-42 winner over Arapahoe when they last played one another last Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Cambridge Trojans took a hard 53-38 fall against the Arapahoe Warriors on Wednesday. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cambridge's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Mallory Springer, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds, and Elisabeth Kubik, who posted nine points. Springer has become a key player for Cambridge: the team is 12-6 when she posts at least eight boards, but 0-5 otherwise.

Arapahoe found their leader in freshman Sawyer Shafer, who went 6-for-10 en route to 16 points and three steals. Suttyn Shafer was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Cambridge's defeat dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Arapahoe, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-9.

Cambridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Arapahoe, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 60-41 loss against Southwest on the 20th.
