Section 6 Freelance recap September 24, 2013
Mike Geiger of Nichols ran for the longest rushing play in Section 6 Freelance this season against Portville last week. Geiger ran for 68 yards on the play and finished with 126 on the day as his team defeated the Panthers.
Nichols scaled the state rankings by moving to 452 from 538 this week, the biggest jump in the league. Colin Brinson's team climbed the ranks as a result of beating Portville 26-23.
Nichols' offense cannot be tamed this season and the Vikings feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Steve Glinski has thrown for 179 yards this season, while Geiger has 3 catches for 73 yards.
The Vikings and Gary Swetland's team played the most contested game in the league this week, with the Vikings eventually emerging with a 26-23 victory. Geiger caught 2 passes for 51 yards during the win.
