Softball Recap: Emerson Takes a Loss

Emerson's last matchup with Butler could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Friday. The Cavaliers lost 7-1 to the Bulldogs. The game marked the Cavaliers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Emerson saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sophia Centeno, who went 2-for-3 with one double. Brielle Schumeyer also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Emerson's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Butler, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Emerson will challenge Pompton Lakes at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Butler, they will face off against Wallington at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
