Softball Recap: Winton Woods Warriors vs. Loveland Tigers

Winton Woods had lost four straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 2-7 to make it five. They lost 17-1 to the Loveland Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-2 on Wednesday.

Winton Woods saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Amena Greene, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Sydnee Short also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

As for Loveland, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-10. The contest marked their most dominant victory of the season.

On Loveland's side, Rylee Ripperger made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Ripperger was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Payton Brown was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and one double. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Summer Rohlfs was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one triple.
