Basketball Recap: Clovis North Extends Home Winning Streak to 18

A well-balanced attack led Clovis North over Central in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. The Clovis North Broncos blew past the Central Grizzlies 82-56. Given the Broncos' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 15th, while the Grizzlies are ranked 114th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

When it comes to explaining why Central lost, don't look at Na'Jae Stevenson. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 21 points and 22 rebounds. With that strong performance, Stevenson is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. Another player making a difference was Stanley Makely, who posted eight points and five boards.

Clovis North pushed their record up to 17-4 with the victory, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.6 points per game. As for Central, their loss dropped their record down to 14-7.

Clovis North will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Buchanan at 5:30 p.m. Buchanan has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Central has already played their next contest, a 63-55 win against Corcoran on the 18th.
