Basketball Game Preview: Cristo Rey vs. Health Sciences Serpents

Cristo Rey will head out on the road to challenge the Health Sciences Serpents on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Monday, Cristo Rey ended up a good deal behind Gompers Prep Academy and lost 56-40. Cristo Rey has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Cristo Rey had strong showings from Nathan Marasign, who posted 14 points, and Xavier Sawaya, who scored 13 points and four steals. Sawaya is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 11 games he's played. Charles Sawaya also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Meanwhile, Health Sciences played a tough match on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against San Diego Academy, falling 44-22. The Serpents were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-9.

Health Sciences' loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-6. As for Cristo Rey, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-10.
