Recap: Snowflake Lobos vs. Tuba City Warriors
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Snowflake Lobos ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They escaped with a win against Tuba City by the margin of a single free throw, 58-57. Given Snowflake's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 125th, while Tuba City is ranked 303rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Snowflake to victory were Asher Brewer and Merrick Ulberg. Brewer scored eight points along with ten rebounds, while Ulberg scored nine points along with seven rebounds. Those seven rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Ty Boone, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Snowflake has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Tuba City, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.
Snowflake and Pima will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Pima is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. Tuba City and Desert Christian will round out the year against one another at 8:00 p.m. on December 28th at. Hopefully Desert Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Thursday.
