Basketball Game Preview: The Pilgrim Academy Pioneers vs. Gloucester County Christian Conquerors

The Pilgrim Academy hasn't had much luck against Gloucester County Christian recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Pioneers will take on the Conquerors at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Pioneers fans will have to keep waiting for their team to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Friday's season opener. They walked away with a 25-15 victory over Veritas Christian Academy on Friday.

The Pilgrim Academy relied on the efforts of Addison Brittin, who shot 60% from the field on her way to 16 points and four steals, and Isabella Cosme, who posted three points and six steals. Those 60% shooting accuracy gave Brittin a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Moriah Parmer, who put up two points and 14 boards.

Gloucester County Christian not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since February 6th (when they won 44-20). They were the clear victors by a 57-36 margin over Calvary Baptist.

The Pilgrim Academy was dealt a bruising 50-21 defeat at the hands of Gloucester County Christian when the teams last played back in February. Thankfully for the Pioneers, Angela Karamisakis (who earned 22 points along with five blocks and three steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
