Preview: Calvin Christian Crusaders vs. Pacific Ridge Firebirds
Calvin Christian has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Pacific Ridge Firebirds at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Calvin Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 32 on Monday.
Calvin Christian suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Monday. They were dealt a 75-14 loss at the hands of St. Joseph Academy. Calvin Christian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-4.
They got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of
Caleb Lapka and
Garrett Becker, who each put up four points. Lapka also led the team in rebounds with five.
Meanwhile, Pacific Ridge was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 49-44 to Rock Academy. Pacific Ridge has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Calvin Christian has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Pacific Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 5-17.
Calvin Christian strolled past Pacific Ridge in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 by a score of 62-46. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Pacific Ridge's Evan Sauer, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
