Basketball Recap: Rowe Beats Southwest Legacy for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Rowe came tearing into Friday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22 points) and they left with even more momentum. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 56-53 win over the Southwest Legacy Titans. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 152nd, while the Titans are ranked 563rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

David Cavazos and Jordan Rodriguez certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Cavazos went 6 for 10 on his way to 17 points in addition to five boards and three steals, while Rodriguez posted 14 points. What's more, Rodriguez also racked up three assists, the most he's had since back in February. Another player making a difference was Giovanni Aranda, who put up ten points and eight rebounds.

Rowe is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.7 points per game. As for Southwest Legacy, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 7-10.

Rowe didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 62-44 victory against La Joya on the 6th. As for Southwest Legacy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 52-43 win against Pioneer on the 6th.
