Basketball Game Preview: High Point Central Bison vs. Atkins Camels

The High Point Central Bison will venture away from home to take on the Atkins Camels at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. High Point Central is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Last Friday, High Point Central came up short against Ben L. Smith and fell 60-48. While losing is never fun, the Bison can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 168th, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 32nd).

Meanwhile, Atkins played a tough match on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Northeast Guilford and fell 83-50. The Camels were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-23.

Atkins' loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-18. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.0 points over those games. As for High Point Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-8.

Everything came up roses for High Point Central against Atkins when the teams last played back in January, as the squad secured a 72-40 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for High Point Central since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
