Softball Preview: Herron Achaeans vs. Waldron Mohawks
The Herron Achaeans are on the road again on Tuesday to play the Waldron Mohawks at 5:30 p.m. Herron is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.
Herron can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent contest on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 15-5 margin over Purdue Polytechnic.
Herron let Taylor Bailey and Sophie Herring loose on the outfield. Bailey went 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and a triple, while Herring scored three runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Taegan Ann Gadberry, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, a triple, and an RBI.
Meanwhile, Waldron was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 19-0 to Triton Central.
The win got Herron back to even at 8-8. As for Waldron, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
