Flag Football Game Preview: Northside Eagles vs. Colquitt County Packers

The Northside Eagles will face off against the Colquitt County Packers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Colquitt County took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Northside, who comes in off a win.

Northside took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. Their defense stepped up to hand Howard a 23-0 shutout. Considering the Eagles have won three games by more than 20 points this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

One reason for the win was Northside's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Myriana Evans and Mikaela Glover, who racked up five sacks between them. Evans has been hot, having posted at least one sack the last seven times she's played.

Meanwhile, Colquitt County entered their matchup against Valdosta on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Packers took a 14-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. Having soared to a lofty 33 points in the game before, the Packers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Colquitt County now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Northside, they moved to 3-4 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Northside suffered a grim 24-0 defeat to Colquitt County when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
