Baseball Recap: Riverdale Baptist Wins High-Profile Contest Against St. John's Catholic Prep

Riverdale Baptist faced St. John's Catholic Prep in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. Riverdale Baptist beat St. John's Catholic Prep by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 7-5. Winning may never get old, but the Crusaders sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

DIXON MONK was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was VAUGHN JEFFERSON, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Riverdale Baptist's victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for St. John's Catholic Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.

Looking ahead, Riverdale Baptist is taking a road trip to square off against Southern Maryland Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for St. John's Catholic Prep, they will be playing at home against Grace Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
