Soccer Game Preview: Christ the King vs. Community School of Davidson

The Christ the King Crusaders will head out on the road to face off against the Community School of Davidson Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Christ the King will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one goal last Monday, then bounced right back against Langtree Charter Academy last Tuesday. The Crusaders' defense stepped up to hand the Lions a 9-0 shutout. Christ the King haven't had any issues with Langtree Charter Academy recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Christ the King's offense was hitting Langtree Charter Academy from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Addison Peirce led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Community School of Davidson's game on Wednesday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They were the clear victors by a 4-1 margin over Bradford Prep. That's two games straight that Community School of Davidson have won by exactly three goals.

Christ the King's victory bumped their record up to 8-2-1. As for Community School of Davidson, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-6.

Christ the King came out on top in a nail-biter against Community School of Davidson in their previous matchup back in March, sneaking past 4-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Crusaders since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
