Softball Recap: 20 Straight Home Victories for Riverview Sarasota

Riverview Sarasota won the last time they faced Palmetto and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Rams came out on top in a nail-biter against the Tigers, sneaking past 1-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rams.

The result came thanks to Allison Cole's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in 16 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Riverview Sarasota's win was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Sierra Lipton, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Riverview Sarasota pushed their record up to 16-1 with the victory, which was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Palmetto, they moved to 10-6 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Riverview Sarasota will take on Sarasota at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Palmetto, they will face off against Lakewood Ranch at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Mustangs will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight.
