Recap: Paxton Tigers vs. St. Patrick's Irish

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Alma, the Paxton Tigers were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They came out on top against St. Patrick by a score of 39-28. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up eight more assists than your opponent, as Paxton did.

Paxton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jacelyn Jorgensen, who scored eight points along with 13 rebounds and two steals. Jorgensen hasn't dropped below nine rebounds for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Abigale Nicholson, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds.

St. Patrick's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isabelle Scholz, who scored five points along with two steals. It was the first time this season that Scholz grabbed two or more steals.

Paxton's win bumped their record up to 12-7. As for St. Patrick's, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-14.

Paxton will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against South Platte at 6:00 p.m. on February 1st. South Platte is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 51.2 points per game this season. As for St. Patrick's, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Chase County on Friday. Hopefully St. Patrick's focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Tuesday.
