Preview: New Brockton vs. Brantley
New Brockton will be defending their home turf for the first time on Friday when they go up against Brantley at 7:00 PM. The MaxPreps rankings say the odds are against New Brockton, but that can only make success all the sweeter.
New Brockton had to kick off their season with an away game, and unfortunately wound up with a long bus ride home. They found themselves the relunctant recipients of an unpleasant 10-35 punch to the gut against Providence Christian last Friday. New Brockton were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 3-35.
Brantley had to travel to play their first game of the season, and the final result was worth the trip. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Highland Home 19-17.
Brantley's victory lifted them to 1-0 while New Brockton's loss dropped them down to 0-1. We'll find out if Brantley can add another positive mark to their record or if New Brockton can shake off the loss and take the spring out of Brantley's step.
