Baseball Recap: Bowman Academy Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Bowman Academy's offense. They lost 24-0 to the Hammond Academy of Science & Tech Hawks on Friday. If the Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 7-0 to the Hawks when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Bowman Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Hammond Academy of Science & Tech, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.

Bowman Academy and Hammond Academy of Science & Tech are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Eagles will face off against Tri-Township at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Bowman Academy is facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Hammond Academy of Science & Tech, they will square off against Hammond Central at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Hawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wolves have averaged an impressive 8.3 runs per game this season.
