Basketball Game Preview: Blaine Borderites vs. Squalicum Storm

The Blaine Borderites will face off against the Squalicum Storm at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Blaine is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.

Last Friday, Blaine had to suffer through a 73-44 loss at the hands of Meridian. While losing is never fun, the Borderites can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 281st, while the Trojans are ranked 46th).

Meanwhile, Squalicum didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Inglemoor on Saturday, but they still walked away with a 48-44 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Storm.

Squalicum's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Blaine, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

Blaine couldn't quite finish off Squalicum when the teams last played back in December of 2023 and fell 69-67. Can Blaine avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
