Baseball Recap: Dumont Gets the Win

Dumont saw some tournament action on Saturday. They walked away with a 7-4 win over the Leonia Lions. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Huskies.

Dumont's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Alex Martin, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs. Martin has become a key player for the Huskies: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-6 otherwise. Jarrett Carramusa was another, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Dumont's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Leonia, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.

Coming up, Dumont is taking a road trip to face off against Cliffside Park at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The Huskies' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Raiders have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season. As for Leonia, they will host Dwight-Englewood at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so the Lions' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
