Basketball Game Preview: Oakwood Academy Mustangs vs. Skyline Vikings

The Oakwood Academy Mustangs will face off against the Skyline Vikings at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Oakwood Academy is coming into the contest hot, having won their last seven games.

Oakwood Academy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They blew past Winterboro 93-59. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Oakwood Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jadon Williams, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Williams is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games he's played. Austin Germono was another key player, going 10-for-18 en route to 25 points.

Meanwhile, Skyline didn't have too much trouble with Wadley on Tuesday as they won 75-57. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 99th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 304th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Skyline is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 23-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.5 points over those games. As for Oakwood Academy, their win bumped their record up to 24-8.

Oakwood Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Skyline in their previous matchup last Wednesday, but they still walked away with a 50-45 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Oakwood Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
