Volleyball Recap: Cambridge Has No Trouble Against Wheeler

The Cambridge Gryphons made easy work of the Wheeler Warriors on Wednesday and carried off a 3-0 victory.

Cambridge was especially dominant in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-12, 25-18.

Cambridge can attribute much of their success to Anna Lu, who had 11 assists and five aces. Those five aces gave Lu a new career-high.

Lu wasn't the only good server: Cambridge was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 15 aces every time they've taken the court this season.

Cambridge now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Wheeler, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Cambridge will face off against Landmark at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Wheeler, they will head out on the road to face off against Newton Country Day of the Sacred Heart at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
