Canyon and Pacifica are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Comanches will square off against the Mariners at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Canyon's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Pacifica's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

El Modena hit Canyon with a four-run third inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Comanches took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vanguards.

Meanwhile, Pacifica waltzed into their game on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Vanguards a 3-0 shutout.

The result came thanks to Shay Kletke's shutout, as she gave up just four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Pacifica's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Serena Antillon, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. That's the most hits Antillon has posted since back in February. Abigail Amezquita was another, earning two RBI, one run, and one stolen base.

Pacifica's victory bumped their record up to 15-8. As for Canyon, their loss dropped their record down to 14-10.

Canyon came out on top in a nail-biter against Pacifica in their previous matchup two weeks ago, sneaking past 4-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Comanches since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
