Baseball Game Preview: Batesville Bulldogs vs. Columbus East Olympians

Batesville is 0-3 against Columbus East since April of 2017 but things could change on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Olympians at 5:30 p.m. Batesville is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.

Batesville is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over Lawrenceburg on Monday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Bulldogs considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

Meanwhile, Columbus East can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They had just enough and edged out Southport 4-3. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Drew Rotert tossed a big game, pitching 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three).

At the plate, Columbus East saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Marcus Wilkinson, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

Batesville's win bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Columbus East, their victory bumped their record up to 6-11.
