Basketball Recap: Newport - Bellevue Comes Up Short

Newport - Bellevue was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Silas Rams, falling 68-30. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 326th, while the Rams are ranked 87th).

Newport - Bellevue's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Silas, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Newport - Bellevue will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Juanita at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Silas, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Annie Wright at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
