Softball Recap: Bexley Comes Up Short

Bexley came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 14-4 to the Bishop Ready Silver Knights. The Lions were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Silver Knights earlier this season, when they won 15-5.

Davaney Prophet made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Kayla Duffee, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Bexley has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Bishop Ready, their record now sits at 4-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bexley will square off against Madison Christian at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Bishop Ready, they will take on West Jefferson at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Silver Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Roughriders have averaged an impressive 9.4 runs per game this season.
